STEP - THREE - College 101
Thank
you for your interest. This seminar is designed to help college-bound
seniors succeed during their upcoming, pivotal freshman year. It is
based on research, insight and advice from current college students who
speak directly to high school seniors via static and video segments. The seminar is non-institution specific and applicable to any student going away to any college.
Program Highlights

a research-based curriculum delivered with engaging videos and graphics
from real campuses across the country. One of the research projects
upon which the program is based was done at the Ohio State University
and is available for additional information. The Author is Brian Raison.
Participants in this four-hour seminar will learn basic academic protocols,
problem-solving techniques, study tips, and social scene strategies for
first year college students. Topics include:
- Choosing Classes - Note Taking Tips - Test Strategies Social - Scene Changes - Credit Card Lies - Roommate Woes - Safety on Campus - Talking with Professors - And more.
Research Proposal Abstract
Youth
can achieve greater success and reduce negative life consequences
during their first year of college if they 1) increase knowledge of new
social scene and academic protocols, and 2) work through a conjectural
decision-making process prior to actual encounters. This project will
create a self-sustaining program that can be used nationwide.
STEP - THREE - College Faith
3-Keys: Keeping Your Faith at College
This isn't rocket science. Instead, these are simple, direct "knowns" that you can do to prepare.
1. Know what's coming.. feelings, temptations, challenges to your beliefs. 2. Get involved.. with a local church and with campus ministries. 3. Make an impact.. while you are in college. God can use you now!
The College Faith CD-ROM based curriculum and seminar covers these points in depth.
It includes 20 live-on-campus video clips "real college students giving
advice" a highly effective YouTube appeal. It is formatted as a seminar,
classroom series, and self-study for youth ministers, students and
parents. STEP - THREE - Career 101
Throughout the year, the program facilitates several enrichment activities such as mock interviews, resume writing instruction, and office etiquette workshops.
Furthermore, the youth participate in and assist with the organization of a variety of community events and service projects. Examples include outdoor clean-ups, health workshops, and community programs. |
